Culver House Video

This is a video that I recently saw on Channel 18 regarding the Culver House in Decatur.  It’s kind of cool to see inside that building for the first time, and learn what it’s going to be used for in the future, after its renovation.  I kept looking for a ghost in the background but no such luck.

Thumbs up to the city for the new videos!

I saw the Culver House video shortly after Monday’s council meeting and also appreciated the historic information and the explanation of the restoration. I wasn’t previously aware of some of the potential causes for haunting in its history, or of future plans for use of the old structure.

I didn’t know a whole lot about its’ history either but I’ve been interested in it for a long time. I’ve read some of the ghost stories about it in one of Troy Taylor’s Haunted Decatur books but I have a terrible memory.

It’s great that it’s going to be used as a museum for historic Decatur. That’s really cool! (Coming from a history buff, of course.) To think that it was almost torn down.
