Sarah, I Know How You Feel!

I don’t know how I found myself on the other side of the aisle this election but I find myself defending Sarah Palin more each day. It just rubs me wrong when people attack her – especially other women! Sarah Palin is a very likable person, and if we’re honest with ourselves, is probably a lot more like us, as regular ol’ Americans, than Obama, McCain and Biden. Frankly, if I were asked the same questions that’s she’s been asked on national television, I’d look as stumped too. Granted, I’m not running for vice-president but I still feel for her. Her Couric interview reminds me of a very bad job interview that I had a few years back. I was asked what my job duties were in one of my previous jobs and I couldn’t remember! All I could remember was the parking lot and driving to the job. “What the heck DID I do there?” I couldn’t recall. I totally choked, froze solid and blew the interview.

Can you imagine being put into the spotlight that she is in now and the enormous pressure that’s been placed on her shoulders? I’d fold like a lawn chair too. I’d probably be drooling out of the corners of my mouth and become glassy-eyed, if I were asked tough questions, like what my favorite color was. “Color, what’s that?”

Now we await the debate. Oh, joy! I think I’ll avoid watching the pundits dissection of Sarah’s every word tonight, and instead bang my head into the wall – it’ll be the same feeling – minus the waste of electricity!

You know, I don’t like Sarah Palin because of her initial nasty smart ass put downs of Obama’s community organizer background – one of the VERY things I think he should be praised for. And to top that off her stands on slaughtering wolves from airplanes absolutely makes me sick. Along with many of her other opinions on environmental issues too.

And you know if you go on the attack against the “elite” press like she did right from the start what does she expect? Right from the start she one of her other smart ass comments was how unimportant “their” opinions were to her. She really made of point more than once of saying how little she thought of them…

You know, when I started writing this I was about to say I may feel a little sorry for her but, nah. Don’t think I do. I just don’t really care much for nasty smart asses. No matter how “down home” they are. She is very smart, she is very attractive and I think usually pretty articulate and actually I expect her to well in the debate tonight. Actually I think Biden is in a no win spot….

It just came on…. We’ll see.

Sue, don’t hold back. Tell us what you really think. ;-) I appreciate your honesty; I know you don’t like her; and I didn’t really care for the tone she took at the Republican Convention and wrote that a few weeks ago.

I do think the press had been horrid towards her while giving a pass to others for their gaffes – all politicians make gaffes. In my gut I think Palin is a decent person and genuine.

I guess I didn’t hold back did I? :-) I just don’t like her in my gut. No, I don’t agree with her but it is more than that for me there are plenty of people I disagree with politically that I really really like and respect including many of neighborhood folk friends and even my late grandma. She doesn’t seem one bit sincere or real to me. She just seems to be spouting sound bytes and shallow slogans and using transparent fictional anecdotes that support the easy but popular views.

No real discussion, no give and take, no listening respectfully, no thinking it through just put downs and slogans. Obama started his discussion/conversation with the public with a couple books that explain where he is coming from. Oh yea, she put that down too.
